Licensing
avanti's software products are offered under Server-based Concurrent
Use Licensing (i.e., how many Servers the software is loaded and running on
concurrently).
Licensing is not registered or tied to a specific Server or NDS Tree, there
is no need to re-issue the software if a Server or NDS Tree is renamed or
if the software is moved to a different Server.
The only restriction is that the number of concurrent loads or executing
copies of the software cannot exceed the number of licenses for which the
product is enabled to support concurrent use.
The right to use remains continuous provided that the registered End User
remains in compliance with the terms and conditions of the End User License
Agreement (EULA or the Software License Agreement).
When a software product is ordered, a single copy is produced which is
then pre-registered and serialized to the End User and the Concurrent Use
License maximum Server count is encoded into the product.
This licensing method is intended to benefit the End User by simplifying
software distribution and management with the added benefit of cumulative
discount pricing being available for any additional Server license orders.
Obvious advantages is the ease with which the software allows Server and
NDS Tree name changes or being moved between Servers as older Servers are
taken off-line.
Additional advantages include the ability to move the software between a
variety of Servers based upon special processing loads or special
requirements demand.
Probably the single greatest advantage is in simplified software management
since only a single serialized copy of the software is provided without the
need to coordinate product serial numbers to Servers or Trees.
This not only facilitates easier installation but also easier maintenance
as any updates need only be applied to a single Server installation and
then copied to the rest of the Server installations.
Increasing the Concurrent Use Licensing count is just as easy (i.e., the
software can be easily re-issued with the new license count encoded and
then copied over the previously installed software).
Pricing
avanti's software products are licensed and priced by Server under
Concurrent Use Licensing (i.e., on how many Servers the software is loaded
and running on concurrently).
Discounts are available based upon user type (Charitable, Educational,
Government, or Other) and the cumulative quantity of Concurrent Use
Licenses installed for the product.
When a software product is ordered, a single copy is produced which is

be easily upgraded with pricing for the additional Server licenses based
upon the cumulative installed Server Concurrent Use License count.

Support / Warranty
For ninety (90) days following initial receipt of the software,
new End Users who properly
Register
their product(s) are given
Priority Technical Support
and can download any
Updates / Upgrades
which may be released during that period
FREE of charge.
After the initial product warranty period expires, basic technical support
is available via E-Mail while updates / upgrades can be ordered at a
nominal per Server License fee
(Update / Upgrade Order Form).
Continued access to Priority Technical Support and the ability to
download the latest Updates / Upgrades can be extended beyond the
initial ninety (90) day warranty period through an
Annual Software Maintenance
subscription.
Annual Software Maintenance
Annual Software Maintenance (ASM) is available for most
avanti products at a nominal fee based upon the product
and number of Server Licenses covered.
ASM is an optional annual subscription service which
provides registered End Users access to any Updates / Upgrades
which may be released, as well as Priority Technical Support
during the covered period.
ASM subscribers are also provided automatic notification
of any new update / upgrade releases, early access to interim
updates, and Beta site opportunity for new upgrades.
Through use of a unique key code, ENd Users can easily remain current
with the latest software releases by downloading the latest releases
directly from this WEB Site.
Annual Software Maintenance (ASM) is only available to
End Users who have a licensed, registered version of the latest
general release for the covered product.
If ASM is ordered with the software, the initial coverage
period is fifteen (15) months (the ASM coverage does not
start until after the initial Product Warranty expires).
Existing End Users of licensed, registered releases of avanti
software no longer covered by the initial product warranty must
first update/ upgrade to the current general release before being
eligible for an ASM subscription.
ASM subscriptions may be offered for renewal on an annual basis
If an update / upgrade to a previously covered product is released
after an ASM subscription has expired without renewal acceptance,
the product must be updated / upgraded at the normal fees for such before
being eligible for ASM coverage again.

Note: Annual Software Maintenance (ASM) is an all
or none subscription for a serialized software product.
It is not possible to only cover some of the Server licenses.
All Server licenses running under the same Serial Number must be covered.
If any additional Servers are subsequently added to a license that has
ASM coverage, the new Server licenses must also be covered.
However, in the case of Server license additions, the ASM fee
for the new Server licenses will be pro-rated to include the new
Product Warranty for those licenses and to expire concurrently with
the pre-existing coverage period.

general release of the product and the same warranty / support commitment.
